Tish

For over a decade, I've been a proud member of Defiance Strength and Conditioning. I’ve always loved sports and fitness. Beginning in my elementary school years, I played baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and ran track. After skiing came into my life,, my husband and I spent 16+ years coaching/running the youth ski racing Sunlight Buddy Werner program. This time taught me about coaching, perseverance, and the joy of seeing kids surprise themselves when they push outside their expectations. It was so rewarding.

My first CrossFit experience was really unexpected. There's something magical about pushing your limits alongside a group of folks, all working hard for their health. Strength, age, skill level – none of it mattered. We were in it together, sweating and supporting each other. I walked out of that first session remembering what it felt like to win in grade school - and I wanted more.  

Fast forward to today, and I'm on the other side of the gym action as a coach. Being able to witness that same magic from a different perspective is so fulfilling. It's like experiencing that post-workout high ten times over when you see individuals break barriers and achieve what they once thought impossible.

Outside the gym, I'm a bit of a culinary adventurer. I find joy in the kitchen, especially gluten free baking. Cooking is my love language and I enjoy sharing it with…well…everyone.

My philosophy is that coaching is more than sets and reps, or race courses and ribbons; it's about building a community, breaking boundaries, and celebrating victories together.
